I don’t know about you, but I just can’t wait for Saturday with the Fremont Solstice Parade. This will be my first year seeing the parade. Every time I walk down Fremont Ave by the BF Day School and I see all the progress on the parade floats I skip with joy.
I am excited about the naked bicyclists. I am planning on participating. Reading the history of the parade and the naked bicyclists is pretty entertaining. My favorite quote from the Wikipedia page is:
“Oh, no. Not eight naked men on bicycles. I hate naked men on bicycles.”
I think that is pretty funny. But in all seriousness, I am glad that I live in a neighborhood that celebrates the solstice with such passion and creativity. If you are interested in getting naked and riding your bike this Saturday, painting starts in the morning 7-11 am @ Hale’s Ales. Bring your own body paint and something light to wear before and after. Also, put on sunscreen and let it dry before putting on body paint.
Happy painting! See you Saturday!
